The fine print
Privacy Policy
Draft for review. Fill in the bracketed items and have counsel review before this page goes live.
This policy explains what information Armadillo World Headquarters ("AWHQ," "we," "us") collects through armadilloworld.com, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Who we are
[Legal entity name], [mailing address], Austin, Texas. Questions or requests: [privacy contact email].
What we collect
- Newsletter sign-up. Your first name (optional) and email address when you join our mailing list. The form sends this straight to Mailchimp, the service that runs our list.
- Basic server logs. Our host, Netlify, records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Your cookie choices. We store your choice in your browser so we don't ask again on every page.
We don't sell your information, and we don't collect payment details on this site.
Cookies and similar tools
When you first visit, we ask which optional tools you're OK with. Nothing optional loads until you say yes.
- Essential. Remembers your cookie choice. Always on.
- Video and embeds. YouTube videos, played in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube may set its own cookies when a video loads.
- Analytics. Counts visits so we can see what's working. Off unless you allow it.
- Marketing. Helps us measure our ads on social media. Off unless you allow it. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a no.
Change your mind any time with the link at the bottom of every page.
Why we use your information
- To send the newsletter you asked for (your consent). Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To run and secure the website (our legitimate interest in keeping the site working).
- To measure visits and ads, only if you allow it (your consent).
Who we share it with
Only the services that run the site for us: Mailchimp (Intuit) for email, Netlify for hosting, and, if you allow them, Google (YouTube) and any analytics or ad tools listed in the cookie settings. Some of these companies store data in the United States. Where the law requires it, they rely on approved safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Your cookie choice lasts 6 months, then we ask again. Hosting logs are kept by Netlify under its own retention schedule.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the European Union, the United Kingdom, California, and Texas), you may have the right to see, correct, delete, or download your information, to object to or limit how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email us at the address above and we'll respond within the time the law allows. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Kids
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
